Howdy, y’all! We are excited to welcome our NEW Community Engagement Coordinator, Felicia George, to the full-time team. Many of you already know Felicia; she first joined the PR Team seasonally in July last year as a Media Relations Coordinator for the 2023 Fair season. We’re thrilled to have her back, officially joining the full-time team as the Fair’s Community Engagement Coordinator.
Felicia was born and raised in Dallas, growing up right here in Sunny South Dallas. Not only did she attend Lincoln High School, but she was the recipient of a Big Tex Scholarship! Felicia used her scholarship to attend Texas A&M University, where she received her degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences Ecology and Conservation. Prior to joining the State Fair team, Felicia interned at Bonton Farms and worked at the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden. Through these positions, she brings a significant amount of educational and community programming as well as event planning experience. In addition, during her role as a media relations coordinator, she gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the State Fair of Texas and all that goes into hosting a 24-day event that brings folks from all walks of life together and how our event helps the Fair contribute to our local and greater community year-round.
