Howdy, y’all! We are excited to welcome our NEW Fundraising Events Coordinator, Janay Brent, to the full-time State Fair of Texas team. As the Coordinator of Fundraising Events, Janay will serve an important role on the Fair’s Philanthropy Team within the PR department, helping organize philanthropic events and activities to raise funds and solicit donations, ultimately focused on promoting the Fair’s mission pillars of agriculture, education, and community involvement.
Janay joins the State Fair with more than six years of experience in education, project management, customer experience, and community outreach. She began her career as an elementary educator, social media manager, and yearbook coordinator within Cedar Hill ISD, where she was honored to be selected as Educator of the Year. Since 2022, Janay has served as a customer success specialist with Sunrun, a leading home solar panel company. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in business administration and management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
